Finally purchased an IDIDIT steering column. It was the universal 32" tilt column. IDIDIT measures the column from tip to tip so be aware of that. I got the double D end. The stock steering column had the steering mount welded top the column. The 65-66 columns fit tight again the dash where the earlier 2wd's had a space. I am watching pennies again and not wanting to purchase a $100.00 mount I came up with a cheap but effective solution. I reached in my bolt bin and found a 2" Exhaust Clamp that I bought years ago. Measuring the underneath of the original it measures 3 1/2". So I took some stock steel and welded the clamp to the steel. Then I cut the center out leaving the tabs. I then took the original clamp and removed the metal up to the holes on both sides. I then cut down the thickness on each side to account for the tabs.
