Tire Fitment

Image
I mounted a 16" wheel and tire to help me align the front cross member. The 16" tire/wheel combo got swallowed up in the big wheel opening. Going  with this for now but will need to see a 17"-18" just to see how it will look. Dropped the jack a little to see how it would look even lower.

Lining up the jag suspension.

Well ,got the cab back on the frame from 4 feet in the air. I mounted the cab on the new Dennis Carpenter body mounts (that came without nuts) Don't get me started on that again! A body mount KIT without nuts is like a Big Mac without the middle bun! Anyway Mounted the radiator support in place with the radiator mount kit with nuts and placed a fender on to see how we were lined up. I want to go about 2 inches forward with the jag suspension. This pic shows about 1-1/2 inches ahead of the stock center just because I can and I like the look of the tire forward in the wheel opening. Now to get a tire on it and see how it looks.

More time than money

Cab corners and floors are crazy high so with more time than money we made our own repair panels. Below is the bottom cab corners outside. Still have some grinding to do.   The passenger floor was not bas enough for a complete pan so we patched it in with 16ga. Steel   If it looks hot it was! Ground down ready for filler  Money can buy inner cab corners. This really stumped me because the ribs tapered down to nothing on the bottom. After much thought and alot of praying, I took 16ga steel and marked the ribs, made cuts and bent the steel to meet the ribs. Then filled the areas with metal. Proved to be a strong solution. The drivers side inner cab mount had more rust damage so it had a larger patch.

Cab fill and redo

The cab is getting a make over. The radio grill was removed and filled.  Filling the heater hose holes, clutch, wiring and assorted holes.  Removed the center out of the dash and placed a insert inside. Welding this in and molding it into the dash. Probably doing a dash insert w/ 4-5 gauges  Welding in the glove box and ash tray. Probably welding up the radio hole and placing it in a console. Going for a clean smooth dash.  Repaired a small section of the lower support  Placed the support for the American Auto Wire harness  Welded up the heater holes have three more to go.  Another shot of the speaker grill  The passenger side of the air vent needed some attention.
