1966 F100 Bed Restoration

I spent the day with paint remover and a DA sander cleaning the bed. One passender side was nearly perfect but the driver side had a gallon of bondo in it. The bed seems straight except for the wheel opening. They do not make a patch panel for this bed but I read that a Bronco patch panel can be used.

When I used the paint remover I walked away and saw these numbers

Notice how bad the cross brace was?

Cut out the spot welds from the support

Cut out a rear cross member from a donor truck and acquired some extra sheet metal for the bed wheel well and a nice fender

Cross member  from donor 64 f100

Wheel tub tops when I tub the rear 3 1/2 on each side allowing for big meats down the road.

This shows how bowed the cross brace was.

Cutting out the supports

Separated the welds

Marking the donor piece for placement

All marked up for the cuts
Now all welded in.
