1966 F100 ABS Headliner on the Cheap!

Image
Being Budget Minded AKA Cheap, I was now ready for the headliner. I did not want to put the traditional cardboard headliner in but I do not want to spend thousands on a custom interior. I saw someone had a 1 piece headliner for the f100's but shipping and the price was getting up there as well.  I found a local supplier for ABS sheeting. I opted for the 1/8 inch black sheet. It was around $40.00 a 4x8 sheet. I took my old cardboard headliner and traced the outline on the smooth side with a grey sharpie. The corners were a little difficult. I sprayed water on the corners and put a heavy  object on both sides in the sun. After some time I placed the flattened corners out and traced them as well. After cutting out all the pieces I started up the trusty propane heater. I gently warmed up the corners and when pliable I formed the hot ABS around my mig welder tank. A couple of tries and it was formed.   The back clips went back as the original....

1966 F100 New Aluminum Master Cylinder

Image
After much research I found an later model aluminum manual master cylinder that will match what disc/drum setup that I am using. It also will match up with the aluminum clutch master. The master MC39568 is from a 1986 Ford Ranger 2.3 4x4 manual brakes. This master has a 15/16 bore and has double flare style flare fittings.

IDIDIT Steering Column 1966 F100 part 3

Image
Bought my steering column.  I didit Steering 1120300010 30" Paintable Steel Tilt Floor Shift Steering Column. Sanded, wiped down with wax and grease remover. Taped it up real good.  Then I epoxy primed column.    After dry I used my John Deere Blitz black with hardener. Column installed with my new 40's style steering wheel from Southern Rods I actually had to file down the bottom of the steering wheel a little because it rubbed when tightened.  The Jaguar XJS rack was mated to a 3/4- 48 spline u joint and I used a 1"DD to 3/4" DD on the steering column.

DIY Fiberglass Fan Shroud

Image
I wanted to have a shroud for the electric Spal fan that is coming from Amazon.  Spal 30102049 16" Curved Blade Performance Fan I measured my 1968 Camaro aluminum radiator and got the measurements I needed. I measured the core width wise then I was going over the top and bottom and hopefully bolting it in the top holes in the core top. Chevy Camaro/Firebird 3-Row Full Aluminum Racing Radiator  AD-RA-PT67-3 I then made a frame then added a circle slightly larger than my fan which I cut out with a router. Covered the entire piece with aluminum tape. Covered the piece with flannel fabric stapling the top the stretching the fabric around the piece. Using a chip brush (cheap brush) I added fiberglass resin to the entire area. Coated Real good with resin.  After dry roughed up with sandpaper and cut fiberglass matting into 2" strips and laid 2 layers. Trick is to lay out the strips and soak with resin before laying on shroud. ...
