1966 F100 LS Swap Part 1

Image
Unfortunately the SBC had a cam lifter that wore down and put metal shavings in the engine so I opted to use my 2003 5.3 Tahoe motor and  transmission as a new  donor..  Below is a perfectly running 208,000 mile Chevy Tahoe That I used.        The plan is to use as much as possible off this vehicle. On to removing the front end to make the engine /transmission removal easier.          The wiring and computer were marked for location and removed. Later I pressure washed years of grease off the motor/ transmission.   The front clip was removed on the 66 to allow to fit this beast into the opening.       Cleaned the intake and the plate to get ready for the new gaskets and knock sensors. A Special thanks to Ugly Truck Experience for the video and personal help getting this engine ready to go another 100,000 miles. With their direction I was able to purchase and install the following:  High Volume Oil Pump ...

1966 F100 New Bench Seat

Image
I saw some cool seats in an F100. I asked the owner if I can sit in them . They were amazing. They were bench seats from a 1992-1996 F150. These were the cloth style with removable headrests. So off to the local Ford boneyard for some seats. Turns out you can use the original 66 tracks and they bolt directly to the 1992-1996 seats. We bought this bench seat  for $100   This seat also came with power lumbar supports but the pump was broke.. I purchased a new pump for $20  and it works great!           We took it to a local upholstery shop and let them do their magic. Ended up with a black vinyl with a fabric center with straight lines. Turned out great.      These fit great because of the back is thinner and concave in the sitting area.
