LS Swapped F100 New AC

Image
We have Air   After successfully installing the LS engine, the next step was to tackle the AC system. Although the Vintage Air unit and lines were still usable, we needed a revised approach. Initially, we encountered a setback with the double v belt pulley on the Sanden compressor, which was incompatible. Faced with a choice between spending $120 on a new serpentine pulley or a bit more for a new, ready-to-install compressor, I opted for the latter and purchased both a new compressor and drier from Summit. Mounting the compressor posed another challenge since the original location had no space available. Ultimately, I decided to go with the Dirty Dingo LS bracket designed for the 508 compressor. To keep costs down, we used the existing longer hoses instead of replacing them. However, I'm considering upgrading to Vintage's new thinner hoses in the future, which feature "user-friendly" ends that eliminate the need for crimping .
