1966 F100 Photo Shoot today

Image
I made it 28 miles to work without issue. First big trip. We recently got a new camera and here are some shots.

Loud Flasher for my F100

Image
I found that the truck is so loud I am not hearing the American Autowire stock CEC 552/536 Flasher. After much research I opted for the Advance Auto Parts Novita LF12 Electromechanical Flasher. It states that it is 5 times louder and it is. Reminds me of the old 55 Chevy trucks we used to drive . Nice!!

1966 F100 Wiper Blades- Trico 33-150

Image
You would think it was easy buying refills for the wipers.. Dennis Carpenter wants and arm and these young kids at these parts store look at you like you have three heads when asking. While online I did find some Trico Classics @ Oreilly Auto Parts. My truck had 15" blades some showed 13" for this truck. That is why you see that these do not fit my truck. Not sure if the later models had 15" but they work fine.   One (1) speed wiper with Rain-X ..it's fine.

F100 Bucket seat install from LMS Seats

Image
Going a different direction with my seating. We are ditching the bench seat and going with a Black leather bucket seat set up. Looking here locally on I found a source on Facebook for real nice used leather seats. Contacted Dan from LMS Seats on Facebook in Charlotte. Dan has a warehouse full of excellent quality seating for cars, trucks, or whatever else you need seat.  If you are looking for a quality seat without breaking the bank , give Dan a call. The 1966 F100, as most of you know, has the middle hump. So I opted for the flat bottom seats that Dan offers. What we ended up doing is mounting the inside bolt locations right on the hump flat. One tip I saw was when someone used a solder gun to make a hole in the carper before drilling. This stops the carpet from catching and "running".. Great tip!    I used the rear seat belt holes for a location to mount a piece of angle iron. Then I ran 1 1/2 " Angle down across the outside mounting locations. The front outside...

Vintage Air Installation Part 2

Image
Vintage Air Installation Part 2 Click here for part 1 I am moving forward with the Vintage Air install. Primarily getting the heat to work since it is January and it would be great to get this truck on the road in 2021 .  It has been a long time since buying this in November 20, 2013. I added the defrost ducting as well as the three dash vents and placed the unit under the dash.  Looking over the directions again I got the temporary controller set up. I used a piece of ABS I has left over from the roof interior.      Hoses all crimped and ready for some heat.   The Vintage Air Compac II came with the generic defroster ducts. Unfortunately, F100's have a round duct. Since the original ducting was rotten, I removed the fiber ducting from the rubber duct/dash fitting.  Looking for way to attach the ring I opted for plumbing parts. I used a 2 1/2 to 1 1/2 adapter and a short piece of 1 1/2 " pipe.    I painted the inside Black.   ...

F100 - Jaguar XJS IFS Rack N Pinion Steering and Pump Install

Image
Project Disruptive is getting power steering. To bring you up to speed I am using a 350 SBC engine . First, I am using an Alan Grove power steering mount for a lower SBC with short water pump. 400L Short Water Pump   The Jaguar XJS IFS used a Saginaw style Power steering pump. Based on experts I have personally talked to - this pump is the same as the GM pumps we find on 70's-80's cars and trucks.  With the Alan Grove power steering pump mounted I looked for a pump and lines. The pump I used was one from a 1987 Chevrolet R10 (c10) Pickup This one I purchased from OReilly. This has the press fit pulley and a metric "o" ring style port. MasterPro Power Steering MasterPro Power Steering Pump MPP 731-2175 I opted for the matching power steering line from the same vehicle with plans on putting a flare 90 degree to match the rack. ...
